This platter was made by impressing a large leaf that I found on an outing into a slab of clay. I then cut around the leaf and softened the edges. After a bisque firing it was glazed with a warm sage green. The glaze is light enough that the veins of the leaves show up to perfection. The bottom of the leaf is unglazed.

This plate is approximately 9 1/2 to 10 inches in diameter. It was shaped inside a large low bowl to bring the edges of the leaf up rather than sitting perfectly flat.

It is lead free and food safe. It can also be warmed in the oven or heated in a microwave. You can wash it by hand or in a dishwasher. Do not use on a direct heat source such as the stove stop.

It would be great for serving hors d'oeurvres or just look pretty on the kitchen counter or on a display stand.
