Antique R. Heinisch Scissors Iron Brass 14" R. Heinisch Inventor Patent 1859. A pair of civil war era forged metal scissors. These scissors are pure industrial beauty. The weight of them is extremely heavy at nearly 3 lbs. Made for a right hand grip. Created out of iron and brass. Brass button, signed "R. Heinisch Inventor, Newark, NJ" Latest Patent 1859. They are well used but, still cut after all these years.There is a small knick in the bottom blade. Heinisch Scissors are considered the cadillac of scissors still today by some tailors. These beautiful scissors would make a wonderful additon to a sewing collection or for an industrial space.

Heinisch, Rochus (1801 - 1874) (M)

•1820's, Emigrates from Austria to the United States.
•1829, Begins to manufacture cutlery in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
•1835, Listed in Newark Directory.
•Prior to his death business changes name to: R. Heinisch's Sons
•1893, Farnham 1984 reference, page 131, Illustrates a photograph of R. Heinisch's Sons factory located at the corner of Bruce street and Thirteenth Avenue in Newark.
•1914, J. Wiss & Sons Co. takes over R. Heinisch's Sons Co.
so from 1874-1914 it was R Heinisch sons works
