Wonderful vintage glazed stoneware crock advertising the Steel City Manufacturing Co in Youngstown Ohio. It measures 9 1/4 inches tall x 6 1/4 inches diameter at the base and a top opening of 4 5/8 inches diameter. The spigot and lid (if it ever had one ) are missing from this crock. Most likely made by Weir, Monnmoth or possibily Western Stoneware as it is not marked anywhere on the crock. Cobalt lettering on the front and it has a couple of hairlines at the top but is still solid. No chips or crazing. I think these were referred to as water cooler crocks. This would make a wonderful addition to your farmhouse kitchen decor. Use to hold utensils, plant or whatever comes to mind in your decor. It has been in my family for 34 years but now needs a new home.
