...The Maddox sisters were permanently and terminally short of cash. One sewing pattern was a major investment, and only purchased after considerable discussion and careful voting. All five sisters would use that one pattern, with the caveat, of course, that they each make a different style. Which sucked, thought Carol, as the youngest, because she always got the pattern last, and she always had to make the evening length style. No wonder the others thought she was a total tearaway- a party girl- but it was their fault. After all, her wardrobe meant she was only fit for cocktails, fine dining, and dancing after dark...

------------------------------

Gorgeous cowl neck dress by Vogue- a little Audrey Hepburn, perhaps?

Make it short, or evening length:

"Sheath dress in two lengths has opening at left side seam for longer length. Cowl front neckline. Short sleeves and sleeveless. Optional buckled belt."

SIZE:
--------

36" bust, 38" hip

DATE:
---------

Pattern has no date printed, but is from the very early 60s.

CONDITION:
-------------------

All pattern pieces and instructions are present and in good re-usable condition. The dress front and back have been cut to the shorter length style, but the extension pieces are still present and could be added back on for the longer length.

Pieces are of the unprinted variety which are factory pre-cut to size.

The envelope is structurally in good shape, but has quite a lot of age spotting. A previous owner's name is also written on the front. It also smells faintly of perfume.
