The late Wangari Maathai has been a pillar of strength and environmental protection for the African people. She once said, "Anybody can dig a hole and plant a tree. But make sure it survives. You have to nurture it, you have to water it, you have to keep at it until it becomes rooted so it can take care of itself." In memory of her life and dedication, this quilt represents the land in which she loved. Let this quilt be rooted in your family life and nurture you with the similar warmth and strength.
