A palm is four fingers
a foot is four palms
a cubit is six palms
four cubits make a man
a pace is four cubits
a man is 24 palms

So wrote Leonardo De Vinci on his famous drawing, The Vitruvian Man, depicting the correlations of human proportions. The image shows a man standing inside a circle and square, arms and legs outstretched to demonstrate different proportions.

Little did Leonardo know that his love of proportions and drawing dead men would manifest itself in modernist design. This ring recalls the Vitruvian man – the circle within the square – (although the groin injury is strangely absent) and the 5mm London Blue Topaz cabochon rests inside a sterling bezel, a brilliant stone symbolising a brilliant mind.

A unique ring with an avant garde design that would appeal to anyone with a fascination for symmetry and proportion. The circular band measures 6mm in width and the two square bands are 1.3mm. The ring is a size 6 ½, but wears closer to a size 6 due to the width.
