Black Machinist Chest from Industrial Era. This is an old one. Scuffed and worn - I wish it could tell us it's story!

There are many weights, different sizes with extras of some.

For pictures, I have them in the drawers, but I will package them together to ship. They add quite a bit of weight to the chest. I have more pictures if you're interested in seeing them.

I researched machinist chests to learn more about this one. It may be a 1930's Gerstner Machinist Chest, but I am not sure and it does not say that anywhere on the box that I can see.

The metal clasps have "Eagle Lock Company Terryville, Conn." on them. The Eagle Lock Co. was started in 1833. At one time, they were the largest trunk and cabinet lock maker in the world. The company closed in 1954.

The front of the chest slides completely off, then slides into the groove at the bottom. This gives you access to the drawers.

The machinist chest has 5 half drawers - two that go all the way across, for a total of 7 drawers. The drawers are lined in green felt, as is the upper section.

The mirror appears to be the original. There is a tag on the inside taped to the felt that says "1900-1920 Batch great precision size black." I don't know who placed the tag on the box, or when.

On the inside of one of the drawers there is an address in N.Y.

The chest is 16 1/2" wide, 8 1/2" deep and 13" high.

This is another item from the Gospel Chicken House Auction. A great piece of history.

If you are interested and not listed in shipping, let me know and I will add your location. If you buy more than one thing, I will combine shipping if possible.

I package with recycled materials whenever possible.
