this is the first print of an original poetry art piece made by the poetry store in collaboration with san francisco photographer julie michelle as part of our project titled, "city, speak to me"

"city, speak to me" is the result of a photographer walking this city and inviting a poet to give words to what her images speak. What emerges is a glimpse of how the places in this city—intimate, familiar, hidden, and imagined—build bridges between the moments, memories, and desires that become an integral part of who we are.

here's what the press had to say about the show:

"City, Speak To Me blends deft words and stunning images to show how a city can become integral to your identity and your heart. Whether you’ve lived here ten minutes or ten years, you’ll see something new."
- 7x7 Magazine

"...a frighteningly honest snapshot of life in San Francisco."
-The Huffington Post

as with all poetry art pieces from the poetry store, the image inspired the poem, which was typed directly onto the original print in three minutes or less in a vintage typewriter. the resulting art piece was then scanned and printed directly onto the back side of glass.

the glass print, called a fracture, can be mounted directly on the wall, or framed. fractures are vibrant, richly colored, glossy and they will not fade or scratch.

shipping price includes insurance.

i hope you enjoy this poetry art piece as much as I enjoyed making it!
