Vintage Silver Deer Pin Signed Sterling Coro Genuine Norseland Old 1940s Sterling Jewelry, by bohemiantrading

Lovely sterling silver Scandinavian style deer pin from the 1940’s. Appealing woodland motif with a fawn emerging through branches centered In a frame. This was made by a division of the American jewelry maker Coro called “Genuine Norseland” and has two plaques on the back as marks for this company. Norseland was considered an upscale sterling silver line and produced jewelry during WWII years when other metals were in short supply.

Very good vintage condition with some of the lacquer worn off the front (darker areas), bright and intact on the back. Nice applied patina on leaf recesses giving the design contrast and depth. The pin is repoussée in two parts with one frond applied over the back of the deer and extending above the frame. One of my favorite designs from this American company emulating the Scandinavian Modern style.

SIZE: 2-3/16” x 1-3/4”H (including extra leaf frond on top). .356 oz.
