Sooo cute! Vintage mid 1950s strappy full skirt dress that can actually be worn as a sundress, a cocktail dress, a party dress, *or* a day dress. This I've not seen before. Usually if it's a party or cocktail dress, it's too formal for a sun or day dress. Not this one!

Nipped waist and full skirt, with a fitted bias cut bodice that has gathers above and below the bust, with a wide midriff waist. Spaghetti straps with a pert bow on one side, and knotted on the other.

(Have I mentioned yet how much I love this dress?)

Love the two big box pleats on the center front, which gives the skirt some structure, and is also quite full. The fabric is a ribbed cotton with a nice weight, which also gives the skirt body and almost a sculptural quality. It's striped in white, a blue gray, and black. The bodice/bust was cut on the bias so the stripes are diagonal, and the rest of the dress, horizontal. Very clever, very cute, and very versatile.
