An excellent heavy inky black velvet 1920s dress with many of the most classic style details of the 1920s---Velvet Devoure Burnout on the Front and Back Bodice, Wide Luxurious Sleeves that Tie as They Reach the Hands, and a Rhinestone Covered rhodium belt buckle.

The long dress's neck opening has a relaxed small collar that you can tie closed with four long velvet cords, each embellished with celluloid balls covered with small sequins. The vintage 1920's black gown has long flowing poet sleeves with graceful ties at the wrists. The velvet belt closes in the center with an Art Deco rhodium silver buckle. The silver has two light blue glass beads and is covered with dozens of very tiny rhinestones.

This wonderful vintage 1920s dress has quite lovely devoure work--a technique used on fabric in the 1920's. On this dress, the velvet was placed down on silk for make the burn out effect. The devoure covers the front and back bodice with elegant flowing curves in the burnout velvet. The dress's velvet back is also accentuated with two long vertical velvet strips of fabric that run from the neckline to waist ---another fabulous Art Deco detail.
The 1920s vintage velvet dress closes with several snaps at the waistline. This is a long luxurious Art Deco --dress that drapes around your feet yet clings along the hips to create a lovely sexy silhouette --so Jean Harlow.

This amazing Art Deco gown is in wonderful condition with no rips. stains or discolorations. Still very wearable, if worn with care as with all vintage clothing. The black velvet is still sturdy. There are no tags so please rely on the measurements:

--The waist drapes loosely and measures: 34"
--Center neckline to bottom hem: 54"
-- Shoulder to waist: 18"
-- Poet sleeves: 24" from the approximate shoulder seam to end of sleeve. Each sleeve closes with two 8" ties.

Please email me any questions. We am happy to provide more measurements and photographs on this incredible Art Deco which is still in excellent condition.
