Another example of my custom work!

This white papercut design features a covered bridge and a running stream; left and right, trees frame the picture and their branches intertwine above to form a chuppah-like (or sukkah-like) arch. In the upper left corner, a fleur-de-lis represents New Orleans; on the skyline, the Philadelphia LOVE sculpture sits. In the lower left corner, pomegranates as a symbol of love. The covered bridge to the right represents the Thomas Mill Bridge, site of the couple's first date, in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park. A dove with olive branch floats above, symbolizing the wedding couple's parshah, from the story of Noah. The quotations in Hebrew are: on the right, "And when I see the bow in the sky, I shall remember my promise;" on the left, "You and I will change the world;" below, center: "All the world is a very narrow bridge [and the most important thing is not to fear at all]," a quotation from Rabbi Nachman of Breslov.

All my ketubahs are custom made. I do the background watercolor (ink wash) painting, the papercut design and cutting, and the calligraphy myself. I can work with any text you give me, in any language, and I love to include images and symbols that are special to you in the papercut or calligraphic design. I will work with you to develop your dream ketubah or wedding certificate. Also, if you happen to be in the NYC area, I would be happy to meet with you to show you some examples of my work.

My ketubahs are not prints: they are actual original paintings onto which I write, in calligraphy, your text. This is different from pre-printed ketubahs you see that are "personalized" simply by adding your names, place, dates into a blank slot.

Please convo me if you are interested in custom artwork of this kind. You can see other samples of my work on my website (http://www.jerise.com).
