This is one of the most beautiful old English riding crops
I have ever seen. It is probably nearly a hundred years
old, perhaps older - a wonderful collector's item
or special gift idea for the equestrienne on your list.
The carved horse head looks like amber, though it is most
likely bakelite. It is a soft and glowing amber with variations in color.

Plaited leather details are worn but in overall good antique condition.
There has been some repair to the hand-plaited tassel, as shown.
It looks like one had fallen off, so it was stitched back on.
Approx. 28" length. This comes from the Estes estate.

Thanks, mythunderstood
