Sugar Gliders are omnivores, which means they eat both plant and animal materials (Hume 30). Sugar Gliders in the wild are most commonly found eating, acacia gum, gums, eucalypt sap, nectar, pollen and insects (Hume ix, 27). Captive gliders have the same nutritional requirements so they must be fed nectar replacements. There are no balanced commercial diets for Sugar Gliders available at this time because it is almost impossible to commercialize things like nectar, pollen, and insects and still retain all the vital nutrients. If someone sells a diet that is dried and states that it nutritional sound and complete do not be fooled. LGRS Suggie Soup is just one of a handful of nectar replacement diets that have been created for captive gliders. I personally feel that it replicates a sugar gliders natural diet more closely than any other so that is why you find the powdered ingredients that are hard to find elsewhere in my shop.

Do you want to provide your glider with a proper diet but you are not fond of the fly pupa in LGRS Suggie Soup? There are a few more captive glider diets that are also popular and healthy choices. These nectar replacements are known as HPW, VGV, and BML. Look for their recipes and ingredients online.
