Here's another spectacular 1960s modernist piece I recently found while out and about — a beautifully bronzed handcrafted necklace by K.E. Palmberg of the now defunct Alton Jewelry Company of Falköping, Sweden. The photos say it all, but I know you want to read about it, too. I actually brought this piece with me for a little visit to my favorite appraiser so he could tell me more about it. He says that the base metal is copper with a brilliant bronze plating. The stone is an artistic marbled ceramic button cabochon. He dates it to be 60s. I knew most of that information, however, but was just unsure of the stone. So there you go. And let's not forget the great chain! I don't know if the pendant originally came with one, but it sure does match beautifully if it didn't. All in all this necklace is in excellent condition with the chain having a beautiful patina. I wouldn't even think to shine it up.

The pendant is large and measures 2 7/8" long. The circle portion measures 1 3/8". The center cab measures 10mm. The oval cable chain is 29" and long enough to double up in case you want it shorter. It is finished with a simple C spring clasp.

Thanks for looking.
