This is meant to be used to make dolls for Hina Matsuri or Japan's doll's festival. This would be perfect to make your own doll or to use in mixed media etc.

PLEASE NOTE: As you can see in the 4th picture, there is a small chip on his forehead.

This one measures 8.5 cm long including the stick. The details are really amazing! The head is made from porcelain.

About Hina Matsuri
Platforms with a red hi-mōsen are used to display a set of ornamental dolls (雛人形, hina-ningyō?) representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period. The custom of displaying dolls began during the Heian period. Formerly, people believed the dolls possessed the power to contain bad spirits.
