This fish started out as a burnt out candelabra light bulb but it shines with new life thanks to the application of polymer clay.

I love being able to transform what would have been thrown out with the trash into something worth displaying in my home. And this ornament is an example of that.

I used polymer clay to form the tail and fins. Next, I made five different polymer clay "Skinner blend" canes. I took dozens of thin slices from those canes and painstakingly applied each one to the bulb. After it was cured in the oven, I gave it a light sanding and then brushed on a coat of acrylic polish to really make it shine. Back in the oven it went for a final curing. Now my rainbow fish is ready to be hung in your home . Or can you picture it hanging from your car's rear view mirror? It would make a unique Christmas ornament or could be displayed year round. Give it as a gift or keep it for yourself. This fish is sure to make you smile. It measures 4 3/4 inches from its nose to the tip of its tail and 2 1/2 inches from the top fin to the bottom fin. It hangs from a gold metallic thread.
