Upper Blackfoot Fish is part of a unique on-going series of hanging sculptures I started several years ago. Whenever I'm out fishing, hiking or canoe camping, I collect interesting natural items like sticks, rocks, and seed pods. Back in my studio I combine these items to make images of fish in an underwater environment. I build the image inside the frame then flood the entire area with epoxy resin. The end result is a whimsical fish sculpture that looks like it is literally in water. These paintings/sculptures have a rustic appearance that makes me imagine them hanging in someone's mountain house but they would look great in any home.
