I got this beautiful necklace at a quaint antique shop off the square of historic downtown Paola, KS. Now, one might ask where in the world is Paola, KS, why is it historic, and why would anyone want to go there? I suppose it's a pretty well-kept secret, and I'm sure the fine folks in Paola don't want anybody knowing about them because it's apparent they like things just the way they are. If everyone learned of this charming little town it would cease being a charming little town. I was there because I was invited to the wedding of a customer whom I did all the bridal party's jewelry! And being a good American I just HAD to throw money into their economy by supporting their local antique shop. Actually I bought a good many items there — probably enough to pay their rent for the month. So that's the provenance.

Now the spex. I suspect that this choker isn't really that old, probably 1975-1980s. It is in mint condition, bright and shiny without any wear of the plating. The design is fun with hundreds of tiny rolled up rope buttons linked together to form the necklace. It's really a choker and measures 18.5" and 5/8" wide. It has a simple fold-over clasp which works perfectly. It is unsigned.

Thanks for looking.
