I crafted this pillow with a vintage grainsack that was made to hold State Pilot Laying Mash distributed by Hayne's Milling Company out of Portland Indiana. I don't think it was ever used - bright graphics and little to no spots. Gently faded. Lap back for easy removal of the new feather/down/poly insert - my special mix for just the right amount of form and softness. 20" square. Soft and durable. Thanks for looking!

All sacks are properly cleaned before crafting pillows. I use as much of the sack as possible when I am designing and crafting my pillows. Each one shows its age (some more than others) with scars (holes, fading, patches and/or spots). This only adds to the charm of each pillow - making each one unique.

Dry Clean Only because the authentic vintage feedsacks were printed with non-permanent ink so that the graphics could be washed out once they were empty. The plain cotton fabric could then be used for household linens, quilts, and clothing. Nothing was wasted - times were tough. A neat piece of American history!

For international buyers - it usually works out better to ship the pillowcovers only, it is much cheaper on the shipping fees. Two to four pillowcovers will ship for around $13. If you are interested, please send me a convo and I will set up a private listing.
