This is an adorable little soft-cover book (or booklet) with a copyright date of 1912. The title is Jacqueline the Dreamer and the author is Emma C. Dowd. It is part of a “What To Do Series” and was published by David C. Cook Publishing Co. of Elgin, IL.

This sweet story is about a young girl named Jacqueline who is in an orphan asylum (as orphanages were called a century ago). She dreams of being adopted but is worried about leaving her timid little friend behind.

This little book measures 5 inches by 6 5/8 inches and and consists of 30 pages with 5 illustrations. There is a handwritten pencil inscription on the title page which says “To Bertha with love ~ from Miss Georgia Henry.”

Condition is good for age. No missing or torn pages. A few of the pages in the center have come loose from the staples. This would be easy to fix if you care to do so.
