I really like these canisters!

The nest of 7 stacked canisters in enamelware dates from the 1930s and was made in Belgium for French distribution. The colour is pink/vanilla with metal-coloured lids. The canisters were used to preserve the perishable foodstuffs of the house and the writing on each canister is French.

There are 4 small spice canisters:

“noix de muscude” = nutmeg
“canelle” = cinnamon
“clou de girofle” = clove
“poivre” = pepper
and big 3 larger canisters for:
“café” = coffee
“sucre” = sugar
“chicorée” = chicory

Size of the larger canisters with lid on:
Diameter: 11 cm (4.3 inches)
Height: 17 cm (6.7 inches)

Size of the smaller canisters with lid on:
Diameter: 8 cm (3.1 inches)
Height: 10 cm (3.9 inches)

Condition: They are in good vintage condition. There are marks, dents and scratches on the exterior, interior and bottom of each canister and the enamel is worn in places. Some of the paint is going away by place
The insides are empty.

Attention: The canisters still smell of spices, coffee etc.
To open the box it is necessary to turn the lid, it closes correctly.

This nest of canisters would make an attractive gift or would be very nice to decorate your kitchen. It is a very beautiful French souvenir.
