I've been using the leaves from my favorite elm to make impressions in my different clays, but I decided I really wanted to have a raised relief effect. I made a press mold using a sprig of elm. I am one who loves texture and variation so I wanted this pendant to have a very natural edge. I use a light wash of an iron stain that gives this design a gorgeous rusty patina. The stain has been fired into the clay. The pendant is quite large, measuring about 2 inches across.

After I completed the pendant I've strung it on antiqued copper which looks beautiful next to the creamy color of the the pendant.

About 18 inches (may be adjusted).
