This is a small jar that I make using high-fired stoneware clay. I turn the acorn on my wheel, impress the pattern of the lid into the soft clay, and pull the handle by hand.

I've made these in porcelain before. When I did, I got a completely different look. These stoneware acorns are brand new with and ash glaze adorning the textured cap and looking incredibly natural.

The body's glaze looks so warm and wooden that when I'm set up at a show many people find that they can't walk by without touching the glazed surface to see if it feels as good as it looks (it does), and people often comment that it looks like wood rather than pottery.

It is high-fired and the glazes are food safe.

The jar measures about 4 inches in diameter and stands about 8 inches tall to the top of the stem.

SHIPPING IS INCLUDED IN THE LISTED PRICE. Sorry, I do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii

Thanks for looking at my pottery,

John
