The Son of a Tory by Clinton Scollard, 1901
Listed is an early edition of The Son of a Tory by Clinton Scollard, published in 1901 by Richard G. Badger & Co. The book is a work of historical fiction; its mouthful of a subtitle describes it as "A Narrative of the Experiences of Wilton Aubrey in the Mohawk Valley and Elsewhere During the Summer of 1777."
The book is filled with lovely, poetic prose by Scollard, who was not as well-known for his poetry as he was for his skills as a technician. The beautifully decorated front cover and spine, however, make the book a potential decorative piece for a library or study area.
The book is in good condition. The corners are bumped and starting to tear, and the bottom left corner of the back cover is a bit warped (pictured above). The spine is cracked, making some of the pages loose (pictured above). There's a small inscription written in pen at the top right corner of the first page (pictured above), but the pages appear to otherwise be clean and unmarked.
Please look at all of the provided images to fully assess the product's condition.
Measures approximately 5'' x 7'' x 1 1/4''.
