This flashy big vintage 1940’s unsigned Coro love birds pin has pavé set rhinestones and enameled beaks, feathers, and flowers. The pastel colors are very pretty and feminine. The tiny eyes are set with ruby red rhinestones. It was touched up at some point as a couple of the rhinestone flower centers have extra paint on them. It is missing one rhinestone that could easily be replaced. I just love the way the female bird has her head cocked towards the male! Terrific “bill and coo” figural love bird brooch from the glamorous Forties.

SIZE: 2-3/4”H x 2-1/4”W. Coro made a number of styles of bird brooches and Duettes in the 1940’s. Gene Verrecchio was the designer with Adolph Katz the agent for the patents. Though this is unmarked, it is identical to this pin but in a different set of colors: http://imageevent.com/clios_vintage_jewelry/coropatents/coropatentsfiguralbirds?p=32&w=4&c=4&n=0&m=-1&s=0&y=1&z=2&l=0
