Vintage black genuine cowhide leather suitcase from the 1940s. Sturdy, heavy duty travel case with leather interior and brass parts. Inside has two leather straps and a divider with large pocket. This suitcase belonged to a WWII veteran and was most likely used during the war. The inside of the suitcase has his name stenciled in it. The outside of the suitcase is monogrammed with W.L. embossed in the leather. Ever so faintly upon close scrutiny one can see penciled on the side of the suitcase "Admiralty Islands 1945" and a palm tree. This is so faint that the camera can barely pick it up....Use the zoom feature on the third photo and you can see some of the lettering. Six brass feet on the bottom, brass closures, and a sturdy metal frame, this suitcase is heavy duty. Vintage condition with leather peeled away from the handle, scuffs, marks, and patina. The case measures 20" x 12-1/4" x 8".
