Friendship Knot

The endless knot or eternal knot (Sanskrit: Shrivatsa; Tibetan Dpal be'u) is a symbolic knot and one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols. It is an important cultural marker in places significantly influenced by Tibetan Buddhism such as Tibet, Mongolia, Tuva, Kalmykia, and Buryatia. It is also sometimes found in Chinese art and used in Chinese knots. It also has Celtic roots. This painting for me is a sign of friendship. My friends call it the kin symbol. This is a perfect gift to show friendship, or to add to your personal collection. This piece is painted on a reclaimed wood block, an it is very rustic. In a word it has imperfections, but that is part of its charm.

5 ¾ X 3 ½ X 1 ½"

Acrylic on reclaimed wood. I only use reclaimed wood for may paintings. Waste not want not, right?

This item is fixed with hardware for wall hanging or it can be used as a table decoration.
