the dark stain down the center of this board was created by a nail that had been driven into the tree. maybe it held a tree house or even a bird house was nail to it. i like speculating about the life of the trees before they came into my world.

because i mill my own wood locally i have access to awesome beautiful end cuts that are not suitable for high end furniture. but they are perfect for creations like this one. of course they are all one of a kind so i take the time to photograph each piece to show its beauty

This cutting board was hand crafted by David Wolfgram using only recycled hardwoods and local discarded trees.
By utilizing these materials we reduce our impact on our Earth. To ensure the longevity of your cutting board apply a teaspoon of vegetable or canola (petroleum free)oil to each side after washing. hand wash only.

the cherry rails lift the cutting board off the counter allowing it to dry evenly and offer superb strength and support. polished to silky smooth finish. stout and super solid!!!

local reclaimed live edge black walnut and cherry
24" x 8" at its widest point
1" thick (1 3/8" tall with the cherry rails)
hand signed and tagged with care instructions

During a day where “we” as a society consume natural
resources at such a rapid pace. Then cast aside or waste, in where some parts of the world would be deemed bountiful. I turn the remains of what thirst for expansion and
“more“ leave behind into beautiful functional heirloom quality works of art. My hope is that the discarded trees in our community will live on in vibration and history as
designed by my heart and hands.
