I. Love. Mermaids.

Mermaids: every little girl's first love, her first sacred mythic creature, her first devotion and aspiration. Who doesn't love mermaids? Cross culturally, mermaids are revered as symbols of the sacred feminine and the powerful Ocean from which all life emerged. Mermaids represent beauty, power, seduction, and freedom.

"Mambo La Sirène," is the revered Mermaid Lwa and Orisha (Goddess) of Voudoun and Santeria. She corresponds to Yemayá in West Africa. She is the wife of Agwe and is the Goddess of wealth, seduction, and beauty. She is Queen of the Seas.

This paper-doll is not your usual flimsy paper doll. It is constructed of an interior of thick, strong cardboard which was reinforced with a layer of papier-mâché and varnish. Her limbs and wings are posable. Her tail was hand-sewn with metallic thread and a shimmery green silk.

Place La Sirène at the center of your altar to connect to your inner beauty and power, to receive blessings and luck or just to admire her. La Sirène makes a beautiful gift for young girls and women who love fanciful and enchanting things!

Doll is 8.5" long. Each doll will arrive with a beautiful hand-made card with information about Yemayá/ La Sirène, including a beautiful prayer.

Enjoy!
