‘The Maiden Suvarna’ is a Siberian folk-tale re-told by Ruth Manning-Sanders. Her books kept me company when I was small and were full of lovely folk tales from all over the world.

I unfortunately do not remember the story but the title is so inspiring that I decided to use as name for this beautiful dress.

The dress is not Siberian but Austrian. It is made of a textured wool and linen blend and is quite thick.
The dress is embellished by stunning, extra large wooden buttons, one with an edelweiss shape. There is double layer of hidden white buttons.
Other striking features. The lovely embroidery on the wrists.
Colour: a natural greyish white and taupe details.
A really unique piece with a folk and slightly Edwardian appeal.
Dress is unlined and in good condition. It does not appear to be particularly old and may be from the 80s.
Belt is included.
