This petite ring features a 3mm diameter transparent Colombian Emerald in a floral sterling silver setting with an antiqued finish.
The 0.15 carat gem was ethically earth-mined in Colombia, is neatly cut and 100% natural, meaning, no chemical or radiation treatment processes have been applied to alter its natural colour or transparency. It has good colour too : not the deep 'Irish' green of $1000/carat Brazilian emeralds, but rather the well saturated mid-emerald green that Colombian emeralds are prized for. Technically the gem would be graded 'VVS' for clarity (meaning, transparent and 'eye clean').
The band is a well-worked cast floral design featuring a small rose setting for the stone flanked by a pair veined leaves. I've hand polished and bevelled the band edges for comfort and applied some jeweller's oxide to the recesses of the metalwork then repolished the raised surfaces to a high shine in order to lend the design some 'depth' and a bit of an heirloom feel.
All up the ring weighs 1.3 grams and measures around 1mm x 1mm in the lower band (larger at the crown). It's far and away the smallest, daintiest ring in the Salon Petite collection, and one especially suited to little hands that favour size 6 [U.S] and smaller bands.
Presentation for the ring includes a hinge-lid gift box lined with Japanese Unryu papers. Unryu is a handmade designer paper that contains strands of plant fiber for colour and contrast - very pretty. I really enjoy dressing up my creations for display and gift-giving. If you’d like to see a photo of the presentation style do please drop me a line and I'll be happy to send you a photo.
The inside diameter of this ring is 17mm which translates to the following sizes ...
Size ... 7 (US)
Size ... 14 (China and Japan)
Size ... N 1/2 (United Kingdom & Commonwealth)
If you like this ring but it's not the size you want I'll gladly recreate it to any size you specify at no additional charge. Just let me know at the checkout by specifying the size you require and whether the measurement system you use is [US] or [China and Japan] or [United Kingdom]. It usually only takes me a day or two to rebuild a ring - much of which is time spent tumble-polishing the piece back to a super shiny finish - so please allow a little extra time for delivery in this case.
