This bonnet is made of a green (olive in color) silk faille. It is a gathered bonnet that was very popular during the Civil War era. The curtain is intact at the bottom. The shape has a "up thrusting" towards the front to frame the face in a high arch. The decoration that could have been in this high arch area is not present. The edge at around the face has green velvet bound around the edge. Inside you can see the cream quarter lining in photo 3. The ties are 2.5" wide cream silk satin ribbon to tie under the chin. Condition: excellent.
