''Hiatus''

This is a signed gallery-quality print of one of my paintings. The original was in watercolour and shows a swimmer floating in sunlit waters.

The title of this picture is quite special: 'Hiatus' is a pause or a break in activity, and as such it fits the image of a swimmer pausing and just letting the world go by. But it's also the painting that I was in the middle of when I broke my wrist (not while painting, obviously, but within about 15 minutes of putting down my paintbrush). I didn't finish the painting until nearly 6 months later. between the start and finish of this painting was a time I'd not like to repeat, but a time in which I learnt things that I won't forget. Not least the importance of knowing a good physiotherapist!
