This is a series of 4 2.75 x 4.25 inch Victorian advertising trade cards for a St. Louis clothing store called "F.W. Humphrey & Co. Each card has a gold metallic sheen and the copyright date of 1881 in the bottom left corner.

"Ha! Tis he, the Maltese, me Rival."
"I hear his Footfalls music"
"For pity sake gentlemen be calm"
"Did you see me get the best of him?"

All 4 cards look as though they had cardboard backing at one time or another, probably from an early scrap book. They are in fair to good condition considering the age. Minimal folds.
