This little pear is a whimsical bit of natural form, thrown and altered with attachments. It's probably just about twice the size of an actual pear -- only about 6 inches to the top of the stem and 4 inches in diameter.

The pear is glazed in a waxy yellow glaze that blushes red at the touch of the kiln's flame. In color, texture, and even in its speckledness, it looks amazingly like an Anjou or maybe a Forelle pear.

The leaf is an oribe copper green glaze -- transparent enough to allow the clay to show fine texture beneath it.

The stem handles are a contrasting clay body, stained with iron.

In the third picture, I have the pear sitting next to one of my two quart pitchers to give you an idea of scale.

AS WITH ALL MY POTTERY, SHIPPING IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE. sorry, but I do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii.

Thanks for looking,

John
