♛The Details

ca. 1960s, this upscale mohair, wool, and leather coat is quintessential Bonnie Cashin. Fashioned of rich jewel tones set off by deep olive leather, it is fully lined in Cashin's typical faux fur, assuring your warmth even under brisk conditions. Pockets are lined in matching wool jersey. Cashin's brilliant East-Meets-West "Noh" design is used to great effect.

The only thing missing is the label, which was lost during cleaning (!!!). You can still see the impression in the lining where it was stitched.

That said, I 1000 percent guarantee it is authentic Bonnie Cashin. You can see the exact same coat here, same colorway and materials, the only difference being that this one is lined in the wool jersey found in our coat's pockets; our coat is lined in the warmer faux fur:

(This coat is sold, but the asking price when I first found it was something like 2 grand. No kidding. I also believe this coat is misdated slightly.)

This is not only an investment piece, but a coat that blends perfectly with today's fashions.

We do offer layaway; inquire within for details.

♛The Measurements

This coat is essentially a wrap/tie design, so it will fit and flatter many figures.
The underarm area is about 40" when coat is laid flat and untied. It can be drawn smaller, of course.
Length from center of back collar to hem 40"
Shoulders are about 17"
Sleeves are about 16"

♛The Condition.

This vintage coat is in Excellent shape with no flaws or issues noted. It was recently cleaned. The original Bonnie Cashin for Sills designer label has unfortunately gone wandering, but you can cross-check with the link above if you have any concerns about authenticity. (It's such an iconic Cashin that the designer can pretty well be guessed from 100 yards away.)

Frequently asked questions about jumblelaya

Sorry, each garment in our shop is authentic vintage, dating from between 20 to 80 years old. We generally only have the one piece shown. We do not sew these items ourselves.

If you love it and it fits, consider buying it, since it's unlikely you'll find it again easily.
If it's older than, say, 1964 OR if you feel it fits our shop's aesthetic, absolutely! We pay fairly, generally 1/3 of retail, sometimes even more. Shoot us a note or set up an appointment to sell if you are in the Portland, OR metroplex!
Sure do! Convo us for an info sheet about it.
We do not have a brick-and-mortar shop, but we do have a private studio located on the banks of the Columbia River, directly across the river from Portland, OR. We offer LIMITED appointments currently, due to time constraints. But if you are serious about a piece or pieces you see, let us know and we'll set something up. Shop inventory is generally not kept in the studio, so you'll need to let us know ahead of time which garments you'd like to see in person.
