Amber in Lithuanian language (in the land where amber comes from) is called gintaras [g i n t a r a s]. Word gintaras originates from the verb ginti [g i n t i] and means to protect, defend, guard. To protect from illness, to guard soul and body. Amber was main material for charms and amulets in Baltic lands for thousands of years. Amber was and is used in traditional and today's medicine. Cross is a symbol of human, so cross from Baltic amber is strong amulet.

Amber is not a stone, nor a crystal. Amber is fossil resin, which age is about 40 million years. It is warm to touch and very well known for its healing abilities. Amber works not only energetically, but also because of amber acid, which is excluded in small amounts when is near your body. That is why amber is valued stone in most expensive SPAs around the world.
