That's right, the collection of true, anonymous loss-of-virginity stories is finally available on etsy!

True, anonymous loss-of-virginity stories, pleasant and unpleasant, hilarious and heartbreaking. This book was published in 2008 as a collaboration between myself and the extremely talented storyteller: K.D. Boze. "Kato" is my maiden name. :)

This book was published by Seattle-based Fanny Press, measures 8.25x10.5" and has 138 pages. All black and white.

This book was done as an exercise in conversation - in opening up about the stories we mostly keep to ourselves. The process involved trust, openness and humility - for both participants and ourselves, as the gatekeepers to these stories. It's been a wild ride, at times both hilarious and devastating, and I know you'll enjoy them! Included are about 80 different stories.

I'm proud to say that this book has been officially accepted into the Kinsey Institute Library.
Though we do not include gratuitous imagery, this is a book about sex. Drug, alcohol and violence are factors in many stories and this book is for mature readers. That said, I do think it is excellent for young adults and for encouraging discussion. Enjoy. :)

"Illustrators K. D. Boze and Stasia Kato interviewed all sorts of people--gay, straight, bi; young, old, ancient--about their loss-of-virginity experiences. The illustrated stories in The Virgin Project are moving, hilarious, and heartbreaking in turn--sometimes all three at once--and knowing that everyone s first time is awkward, and that some folks' first times are unpleasant, and that most of us survive them, might be good for your virgin, FIRST. It couldn't hurt you to be reminded of those things, either."
Dan Savage, The Stranger

"Kato and Boze are kind to their subjects, and kindness is important. This project could easily devolve into nasty frat-boy humor, but their respectful tone is both inspiring and sexy."
Paul Constant, The Stranger

"True-to-life tales of innocence lost ... by turns hilarious and horrifying, incredibly moving and chilling."
Bill Baker,
