In true 40’s fashion, our Grandma Lillian’s kitchen was small and colorful. She had wonderful pops of cherry red everywhere from her dinette set to this spice rack. These 12 vintage white milk glass Griffith’s spice jars are accompanied by their original red plastic display rack. What a neat way to add some retro flare to your own kitchen!

Spice jars included: Cinnamon, ground nutmeg, garlic salt, ground ginger, paprika, black pepper, roastmeat seasoning, celery salt, allspice, poultry seasoning, dry mustard and ground clove.

The red plastic rack has two holes on the back for mounting to the wall, if desired.

Condition: The caps show signs of wear; the cinnamon in particular, has a patch of blackened rust around one edge of the cap. All but three of the jars have their original metal sifter. Each jar’s front etched label and all the paper labels on the back stating the origin & uses of the spice are intact (although the poultry seasoning’s paper label is cracked and peeling at the top). The ridges decorating the bottom front of the plastic rack show a little spot of wear on each ridge and one has a small chip. There is also a hairline crack on the side of the rack.

“Around 1939, senior management wanted to make the Griffith Laboratories name familiar to the general public. The company came up with an imaginative and highly successful idea. Griffith created a set of twelve high-quality spices, each in its own stylishly designed, gleaming white glass jar.”
