4"x6" etching of an orchid in a rainforest hand pulled in black Charbonnel ink on 7"x9" white Rives archival paper. I have hand colored this etching with watercolors. This is numbered as a varied edition due to the differences in the watercolor work. This is numbered VE 1/25.
This artwork was hand-pulled by me on my etching press after drawing the image into a hard ground which resists acid. The drawn lines expose the zinc plate and are etched while the grounded areas are protected from the acid. Several acid dips were made with an aquatint sprayed ground to achieve tones, such as in the background. Finally some burnishing with a tool allowed for highlights in the aquatinted background. Others of this plate are available as printed in colored inks (ala poupe'e) or also as hand colored by me using watercolors after the printmaking process. Yours may appear slightly different than the one pictured here due to each ones uniqueness.
This artwork is titled, numbered and signed by me. OOAK
