'Comet Tail', in light cerulean blue, is the stuff of dreams....you may follow the comet tail into the clouds (catch it in the upper right of the curvature in photo #4), examine the mysteries within....or ride the comet tail into the clear side, rippling with 'liquid' swirls, comprising 60% - 65% of the float's glorious surface. The liquid swirls emanate an enormous peacefulness, encouraging the creation of contemplative space. Or you may choose to hop the comet tail and disappear into the mist, created by the 'frosted' reverse net markings - or 'ghost net' patterns - comprising 30-35% of the surface glass, from the net it must have once worn.

Comet Tail measures 3-3/8" diameter or 10-1/4" in circumference. The 'comet tail' is actually what is called a 'stretched' bubble which burst on the surface - a form of birth mark, I'd say. Fully intact and quite beautiful in real time, it measures 1-3/8" long. It comes to a perfect point at either end, with the center being a 'window' into space! To the upper left of the comet tail is a lovely 'worm' or 'sea snake' in the glass, about 1-5/8" in length. Another unique identification mark on this pretty hand blown, antique Japanese collectible. The float is clustered with an entire 'galaxy' of bubbling which lights up like the Milky Way when the float is held up to a light source. There are two more surface 'burst' bubbles - small and tear drop shapes. See if you can locate them and make three wishes - one on the comet tail plus two on the tear drops!

The seal 'button' is a beauty, in MINT condition showing no chips, no nicks, no grazing. Most fortunate considering the float is 7 to 8 decades old. The seal button is primarily oval in shape. It has been well crafted in nice, thick glass and well placed. The surround edges, as mentioned are in perfect condition! (It can use a bit of a bath in warm water and dish soap, if you like, or just sponge it off gently, treating it like a baby!) The 'eye' of the seal, which can be seen lit up in photo #1, is prominent and large. If displayed in bright light, it will cast a brilliant display onto whatever surface you place it, much like a flashlight only the lovely cerulean blue will glow! Opposite this wonderful 'eye' internally, is a large, reflective 'pearl' or deep cerulean blue bubble. Photos were taken at dusk, on an overcast, cloudy evening, so imagine the beauty of this float in sunlight!

Comet Tail will bring peace, joy, and charm to any display setting. It makes a great 'desk buddy', book shelf companion, coffee table piece, or an unforgettable gift that can be passed on to posterity. My thanks to the brilliance of the Japanese culture for offering the gift and legacy of the old sea arts to the world!

Thank you for helping to care for vintage fishing floats which are rapidly being replaced with plastic or synthetic floats.

I value your time and energy. Thank you for your interest in lightinawormhole. Whether you purchase or not, Best Wishes!
SHIPPING: I am happy to offer Priority shipping for this float. It will be double boxed with extra insulation for maximal protection of its antiquity while in transit. The cost is $10.00. This includes your tracking number and insurance. It will be packed with absolute care. *** Please allow 1 to 3 days to ship and 2 to 3 days for the carrier. You should receive it in a week, likely less. If you require the item quicker, please let me know and I’ll ship it fast! ***

COMBINED SHIPPING: Yes - I will combine! Floats of generally similar size & weight can be combined so you save on shipping. These decisions are made at the actual time of packing, using my best judgment to keep items safe from damage in transit, protecting them maximally. Best option is to pay the shipping on each item up front. A shipping refund will be issued promptly through Paypal once your parcel or parcels are complete. My customers will confirm I am happy to do this. If this doesn’t work for you, convo for a ‘guesstimate’ on combined shipping of items.

CANADA: USPS has omitted insurance from the economy (1st Class International) shipping category. Priority International is the next best available method yet not cost effective in my opinion, unless purchasing two or three items & combining shipping. Please convo for a quote if interested. My sincere apologies!
