A tile from our "Horses" bas relief series. This sculptural tile's finish is smooth to the touch, has a bronze face coat, and was finished with a raw umber alkyd patina. the tile measures approximately 12 1/" x 6 1/8". The flat part of the tile is approximately 3/8" thick, and the highest raised part of the figure is almost 1" thick at the highest point.

Our tiles may be used in dry or wet locations. They are beautiful installed in showers and backsplashes, and can even be used outside. This tile does not have a hanger attached to the back, so it can be displayed on a shelf or mini-easel, installed using standard mortar, or may be framed.

About MMc Art tiles: My aunt, Maggie McLaughlin, is the talented sculptor responsible for MMc Art tiles, which became a small family endeavor. Maggie sculpted the master tiles, my father Mike McLaughlin created the molds and formulated the various forton mixtures, and hand poured the tiles using a multi-step process. I then hand-sanded and buffed each tile to an ultra-smooth finish and applied an alkyd patina to seal and protect the surface and give the tile color and more dimension. The tile was then polished to a shine. Finishes (face coats) include marble, nickel, bronze, copper, and occasionally brass. Real stone and metal powders are used in the face coats.

Please note: MMc Art tiles are on extended production hiatus and therefore we cannot accept custom orders at this time.
