8" x 54" flat crepe silk scarf hand-dyed with sustainably grown willow and eco-friendly processes. Willow leaves, bark and twigs can be used fresh or dried to create immersion dyes and contact prints. With time-honored dye practices, I produce a range of colors and patterns. In some pieces, I use bits of wire or other metals to mordant the color, shift the hue or add markings. Some pieces are patterned with bound or clamped resists. Many pieces are the result of a series of steps that combine to create a complex surface with layers of interest.

See my entire Willow For Color collection at http://www.etsy.com/shop/donnakallner?section_id=10678248 . The collection currently includes silk scarves in two sizes.

This scarf is long enough to wear wrapped twice around your neck, knotted to hang in front, or tied around your hair. The fabric drapes well without being bulky, but it's light enough you can wear two of these scarves together for a more layered look. In a pinch, this scarf will make a bandeau top, a stylish sling, or a blindfold to use when springing a surprise. See how I pair two 8" x 54" scarves into a temporary infinity scarf at:

Care Instructions: Gently hand wash only when needed. A rinse in clear, cold water may be sufficient. If soap is necessary, use a mild, pH-balanced shampoo and add a splash of white vinegar to the rinse water. Line dry until slightly damp then press with a dry iron (no steam) on the silk setting. Do not dry clean. Care instructions are included with your purchase.

What You See: I do my best to post photographs that accurately depict colors, but what your monitor shows and what you see when you open your package may vary slightly. The luster of a silk scarf can also make it seem to change color in different lights, which is one of the things I love about silk. I want you to love it, too. But if you aren't happy with your purchase, please convo me within 7 days of receipt about a return or exchange.
