Like having children, it is impossible to pick a favorite creation of mine. However, I have to admit, this piece really ranks at the top of my list. I am working on a similar one to wear myself - I love it that much!

This piece of flawless, surf-tumbled and substantial black glass was picked up off the sand of a beach in Puerto Rico by myself recently. The sea glass almost looked like a stone until I held it to the light and saw the faintest hint of light shining through a small edge of the glass. This piece is very old. Look carefully at the gorgeous patina of this sea glass. It is beautifully-pitted and polished. It probably started off its life as an old rum bottle back when it was believed that black glass preserved the alcohol longer than lighter shades of glass. This piece, in all probability, was tossed around in the ocean for 100 + years before washing ashore!. It is wire-wrapped with .925 Sterling Silver wire. The wire sits in a groove I have cut around the edge of the glass. This enables the entire piece of glass to be seen. Either the front or the back is suitable for display. It measures 3/4" by 1 1/4". A pretty 20" Sterling Silver chain comes with the pendant. If you prefer 18", just convo me :)
Wedding packages available!!

** True black sea glass will have an aura of olive and brown (if very old) outline around the edges of it when held to the light. However, it will NOT appear olive or brown. It will look black. That is very important to keep in mind when investing in a black piece of sea glass. Olive and brown are very common colors and, therefore, least desirable to collectors and lower in value and price. If you would like to know more about the history of black sea glass, please convo me. I can talk history all day long;) I love it!!

The item pictured is the exact item you will receive. Every piece of sea glass is unique. I do not use a stock photo. This way there will be no surprises when your item arrives.

Since I collect all of my own sea glass, I would love to provide you with the location, date and story behind the discovery of the piece of sea glass used to create this piece. If you would like to know more about the history of this sea glass, please convo me. I would be happy to provide you with a written record of it as well. Remember, you are purchasing not only a piece of beauty, but a piece of history as well!!

Like all my jewelry, this necklace comes beautifully-boxed with a pretty ribbon - ready for gift-giving!
