This classic necklace was made by one of the masters of Mexican silver, Margot de Taxco, sometime in the 1950's. It is marked with an eagle, Sterling Made in Mexico Margot de Taxco, and the item number, 5112. It has a wonderful patina and is in very good condition, with a secure box clasp.

This necklace is about 15 1/2 inches long when clasped, each of the 12 links is 1/2 of an inch wide, and it weighs 62 1/2 grams. Of course, the measurements are not what's important about a piece like this one. It's a beautiful investment that you can wear, something that will only gain in value as the years go by. It's also, due to its maker's skill in design, a lovely and elegant piece of jewelry.
