GUY DE BOUTHILLIER - French (American) - (1893 - 1962)
Landscape painter. Born in Paris, France in 1893. Guy was the son of Marquis Charles DeBouthiflier-Chavigny, a minister of France. He studied painting with Claude Monet for three years and for two years with Picasso and Sargent. By 1938 he had moved to Los Angeles. He died there on March 14, 1962. Primarily a watercolorist, he was an advocate of the modern French School.
This beautiful painting is larger than most of his works measuring 28" by 34". Light wooden frame. Good condition with no flaws.
