Excellent copy of an interesting book written by James Hogg with unusual color lino - cut illustrations by Peter Pendrey. Published by The Folio Society 1978. Includes an detail of curious traditionary facts and other evidence by the editor.

Book is bright red cloth hardcover with wonderful bold black design ( see picture) on cover and title in black and glod on spine. Cover is in excellent condition, near new. Book comes with great textured blue cardboard sleeve in great condition which has a curved opening.

Book is approx 6" by 9". Spine and binding are great.

Pages are excellent as well, no writing or bookplates found it book. Pages are crisp and clean. Lino - cut illustrations are wonderful and unusual and there are approx 9 of them throught book.
Total 226 pages. Book is very well made.

Author was born in 1770 in Scottland and was a frank ,sraightforward writer ( which you can tell by the books title). Great book, interesting read.

Would make a great gift.
