A world famous vintage portable. This specimen of the greatest typewriter of its time is believed to have been owned by the renowned Ernest Hemingway himself. It was unearthed next to discarded manuscript pages of The Old Man and the Sea.
In excellent working condition with minimal signs of wear. It is expected to attract worldwide attention from writers and collectors alike. A truly unique find!

Category: Portable Writing Equipment | Lot No.: 216-48

A classic vintage typewriter turned into a bright and cheerful brooch. An delightful addition to any jacket or bag! And a popular present for writers and vintage enthusiasts.

The design is a photograph of a three-dimensional paper model I have created. It is professionally printed onto thick sturdy cardboard and the front of the brooch is protected by a layer of clear varnish. The back of the brooch is pale blue paper with a golden brooch pin and a small ‘made of varnished cardboard, handle with care’ sticker. It is approx 6 cm wide and 7 cm high (2.35 x 2.75 inches).

AVAILABLE IN TWO ICONIC COLOURS: pale blue or light green.

The necklace ships for free inside the UK. International shipping is subsidised and only costs £1 to Europe and £1.90 to any other destination. Any additional items ship free of charge.

Typewriter Necklaces and Earrings are also available, as well as caravans and radios. Please take a look at my other listings.

This delightful brooch is part of ‘The Auction Guide’ – a splendid paper craft collection, designed in the smashing style of the 1950s & 60s. It's inspired by the vintage items I possess or wish to own and the stories they tell.

The brooch is pinned onto a professionally printed card and packed in a clear (biodegradable) plastic bag. The auction guide text is printed onto the back of the card. The forth image shows the front and the back of the packaging.

Remember those happy hours you spent as a child with scissors in hand and coloured paper glued to your fingers? That was my inspiration for creating this small three-dimensional typewriter (shown in the last picture). Today I mainly work with a scalpel and often use a pair of tweezers to ensure precision when creating my small-scale paper sculptures. Many hours go into working out the details and ensuring that all parts fit together neatly.
Once I’m satisfied with the result I photograph the object and get the image ready for print. All designs are professionally printed. The shapes are laser-cut and varnished by hand. The last step is to glue the pin onto the back of your brooch.

For long-term enjoyment, please handle with care and keep away from water. If pinned onto a jacket or coat I suggest placing it on the opposite side of where your handbag straps would normally go. The front of the brooch can be lightly wiped clean with a damp cloth, but please do not dip into water.
