Handmade in the flame of a torch by glass artist Nathan Kjernisted, this amazing, boro glass lampwork cabochon is in deep teal, splashed with dark blue and touches of cream. It also has a clear halo around the outside.

As an experienced lampworker, Nathan's cabochons are innovative works of glass art. They are shaped perfectly round with a flat, smooth, fire-polished back and a domed clear lens on the front.

Ready for your jewelry designs, they can be bezel set, wrapped with wire, seed beads or filigree, or you can glue on an Aanraku bail.

This cabochon is made with Borosilicate (or Boro) glass, commonly known as Pyrex, which is more than twice as strong as regular soda lime glass. It has been properly annealed for strength and durability, which means it has been slowly cooled to room temperature in a digitally controlled kiln.

The unique borosilicate color palette has a rich, organic range that can be manipulated and shaded with careful torch work and annealing. Bear in mind that boro glass colors can look darker indoors and much brighter outdoors. The photos in this listing were taken under daylight florescent lighting.
